Rounding is AWESOME!

For the last few days we have been learning about rounding. One thing that we learned is if the ones places is a 5 you round up. Today we played a game in math. How you would play this is you would pick 3 cards from the pile and you would round it and who ever got a higher number gets all the cards. So the person with the most card wins. This game is really good!

The Quilt

Soft, fluffy. Kids are making a quilt square for a big design on the wall. The kids do their best to make a detailed quilt square. It’s all about a favorite memory in the community. All 3rd grade is making a quilt square.

Here is Mackenzie with his quilt square!

Turning our interveiws into paragraphs

About a week ago we started interviewing people about being part of the Carrboro school community. We asked them about their jobs and how the community would be different without them. We also asked about them being interdependent, interdependent means who you depend on and who depends on you. We REALLY enjoyed it! :)!

Good-bye to Miss Symons

On Wednesday we had to say our good-byes to Miss Symons.  Everyone was extremely sad that she would be leaving us, but we know that she'll be back plenty of times to visit!  We wanted to prepare her well for her future in teaching and let her know how much she meant to us so we did a lot of nice things for her.  With the 302 Scholar family's help we collected school supplies and books to get her own classroom started.  She was so appreciative of our thoughtfulness!  We also made her a scrapbook where every Scholar had their own two pages.  We told her what we'll always remember about her, our favorite lesson she taught, and a tip for when she has her own classroom.  Lastly, we all signed a copy of Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss and recorded our voices as we read the book to her.  Thank you, Miss Symons for an amazing year!!!

Christmas Polar Express Party

Before winter break we had a party! We had hot chocolate & breakfast. The Scholars (us) watched The Polar Express movie! Then we compared & contrasted the book & movie. Also we demonstrated our posters that we created.

Hope you had a wonderful break!!!!
